Jack G. Gale, 71, of rural Vermillion died Wednesday, Jan. 20, 1993, at a Sioux City hospital.
Services were at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Vermillion with the Rev. Hal Barber officiating. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery in Sioux City, under the direction of Iverson-Siecke Funeral Home in Vermillion.
Mr. Gale was born Dec. 8, 1921, in Akron, Iowa, the son of Earl and Annie (Harms) Gale. He attended Akron schools. He served in the U.S. army from 1942 to 1946. On May 8, 1950, he married Betty Benjamin in Elk Point. The couple moved to the Vermillion area in 1963, where they farmed. Mr. Gale was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars P.ost 915 of Elk Point.
Survivors include his wife; four sons, Michael of Sioux City, Patrick and his wife, Jan of Elk Point, Kelly and his wife, Loretta of Prairie City, S.D., and Kevin and his wife, Renae of Irene; a sister, LaVada Gale of Akron; a brother, Arden of Akron; and nine grandchildren.
