Geo. Herman Doering Long Time Resident Died Saturday, July 9

George Herman Doering, Sr., died Saturday, July 9 at his home west of Le Mars, after six weeks illness. Mr. Doering was born June 24, 1874, in Grant township and spent his entire life in this county except for the years 1919 to 1934 when he lived at Madison, S. D. residing most of the time near Le Mars,

He was married Feb. 7, 1896, to Anna Margreta Onmen, who preceded him in death Dec. 3, 1932, He was married July 22, 1934, to Katherine Doering who survives him. He is also survived by the following children: Mrs. Amanda Richardson, Madison, S. D.; Harry and George Doering, Jr of Madison,S. D.; Mrs. Lillie McManatnan, Rapid City, S. D.; Mrs. Therese Hamann and Mrs. Elmer Mammen. In addition to these surviving children of his first marriage he was also stepfather of Herbert Doering, Marvin Doering, Mrs. Henry Beeck, all of Le Mars and Alfred Doering of Sioux City. His twin brother, Albert Doering, father of his stepchildren, passed away in 1932 and an infant son died in 1916. A sister, Mrs. Rose Monke, Pipestone, Minn., and a brother, William Doering, of Le Mars survive him as do 21 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Funeral services at St. John's American Lutheran church in Le Mars will be at 10: 15 a. m. July 14, and burial will be at Graceland Park cemetery, Madison, S. D. Rev. L. L. Belk of Le Mars will officiate. The funeral is being delayed in order to give a grandson, Arthur Stephens, and his wife time to arrive from Tacoma, Wash. Mauer's Funeral Home are in charge.
