Note: Charles' mother's maiden name was Harkness.
Charles W. Hoffman, age 86, Omaha, Neb., formerly of Sioux City, died Thursday at an Omaha nursing home.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, January 25, at the Westside Church of Christ at Akron. The Rev. Dean Orris officiated. Burial was in the Riverside cemetery.
Pall bearers were Jim Larson, Marvin Wiksell, Bill Harkness, Kenneth Johnson, Everett Harkness and Roy Carlson.
Mr. Hoffman was born July 19, 1884 at Oxford, Neb. He moved to Sioux City in 1925, and was employed by Sioux Tools, Inc. until 1954. He moved to Omaha about a year and a half ago." He married Irene McKillips in 1904. She died in 1947 in Sioux City.
Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Vivian Naughton, Mrs. Margaret Wiksell and Ruth Hoffman, all of Omaha, and Mrs. Iris Bateman of Orlando, Florida; six sons, Ernest, John, Robert and Vincent all of Omaha, Carl of Seattle, Washington and Claude of Mira Loma, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. Delia 'Waterbury of Akron and Mrs. Cecelia Hunnel of Tucson, Ariz.; two brothers, George of Akron and Ira of Elk Point; 35 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
