Audrey married Arvin Grubb in 1940 and they were blessed with 2 sons Lauren and Lyle. They farmed in the Grand Meadow and rural Kingsley areas for several years. Arvin passed away in 1955.
Audrey worked in several local businesses over the years including, Little Joe’s with her sister-in-law Avis Campbell; Metcalf, Creasey & Thompson; Dr. Powell & Dr. Hamm; and Terry’s Clover Farm.
Audrey married Arlo Grubb July 29, 1969 at Kingsley Methodist Church. They resided on the family farm in rural Kingsley until they moved into town in 1975. They enjoyed traveling to 49 of the 50 states. Audrey collected spoons from all the various places they traveled and brought home wonderful slides of their travels. They also enjoyed camping with Audrey’s siblings at Okoboji. Their marriage of 41 years was a beautiful, living picture of devotion.
Audrey was a lifelong member of the Kingsley United Methodist Church and a member of the Kingsley United Methodist Women for over 50 years. She was the first to respond to any need of the church family. She was always wearing the armor of Christ and strong in her faith in God.
Audrey held her family close, especially her brothers and sisters. They were always known as the “Rimmer-Party of 8”. Family gatherings were always filled with laughter and love.
When Audrey was called home much of the family history was taken with her. Whenever anyone needed to know a name or a date Audrey was the one to be called.
