Teresa M. Vonnahme, 46, of Le Mars passed away Tuesday, March 6, 2007 surrounded by her family at home.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 9, 2007 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Le Mars, Iowa. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitations with family present will be after 4:00 p.m. Thursday, March 8, 2007 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Le Mars followed by a 7:00 p.m. Scriptural Wake Service and Scriptural Rosary Service. Arrangements are with the Carlsen Funeral Home of Le Mars.

Casket bearers will be Mark Pishek, Paul Pishek, John Pishek, Richard Seivert, Brandon Bauer, and Sean Dailey. Honorary casket bearers will be doctors, nurses, and staff of Medical Associates. Fellow nursing professionals will provide an honor guard at the church.

Teresa Marie Pishek was born May 27, 1960 to Eugene and Donna (Pechous) Pishek in Tyndall, South Dakota. Teresa began her education at a country school in Aten, Nebraska and later moved with her family to Storm Lake, Iowa at the age of 7. In Storm Lake, Teresa attended St. Mary’s Catholic School and graduated from Storm Lake Community High School in 1978. Following high school Teresa attended Briar Cliff University. Teresa was united in marriage to Alan Vonnahme on July 18, 1981 in Storm Lake, Iowa. Teresa and Al lived in Oklahoma for the next 10 years. While living in Oklahoma, Teresa continued her education at the University of Oklahoma, graduating with a degree in Nursing.

In 1990, the family moved back to Iowa and Teresa worked at the Storm Lake Regional Hospital. She later worked at St. Luke’s Regional Medical Center in Sioux City, and most recently at Medical Associates in Le Mars.

Teresa loved being a wife and mother. Her daughters were her pride and joy. Teresa was a caregiver, always putting others’ needs before her own. She enjoyed volunteering at Gehlen Catholic School, reading, and cherished her Catholic faith. She was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Le Mars.

Survivors include her husband of 25 years, Alan of Le Mars; her daughters: Molly Vonnahme and her fiancée Brandon Bauer of Iowa City, IA, Jill Vonnahme of Omaha, NE, and Becca Vonnahme at home; her mother, Donna Pishek of Storm Lake, IA; 3 brothers: Mark Pishek and his wife Lisa of Sergeant Bluff, IA, John Pishek of Lincoln, NE, and Paul Pishek of Ogden, UT; a sister, Mary Dailey and her husband Sean of Tucson, AZ; maternal grandparents, Emil and Marcella Pechous of Yankton, SD; mother and father-in-law, Alice and LuVerne Vonnahme of Storm Lake, IA; in-laws: Mark and Rosie Vonnahme of Le Mars, Tim and Barb Vonnahme of Henderson, NV, Neil and Denise Vonnahme of Falls City, WA, and Sue Ann and Tom Lastuvka of Clive, IA; and several nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Teresa was preceded in death by her father, Eugene Pishek; a sister in infancy, Mary Lauren Pishek; and her paternal grandparents, Robert and Marie Pishek.
