Tyler Dawdy, 18, of Akron, Iowa, passed away Saturday, May 19, 2007 from injuries suffered in an automobile accident.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 23, 2007 at Trinity Lutheran Church, E.L.C.A. in Akron. Reverend Jean Morse will officiate. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery in Sioux City. Visitations will be after 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 22, 2007, with the family present after 6:00 p.m., all at Carlsen Funeral Home – Schroeder Chapel in Akron. Visitations will resume 1 hour prior to the services on Wednesday at the church.

Casket Bearers: Justin Ritz, Spencer Miller, Kevin Huls, Tyler Bennett, Cody Gagnon, and Tim Jurgensen.

Tyler Edward Dawdy was born February 22, 1989 in Sioux City, Iowa, the son of Guy Dawdy and Jodi (Hughes) Banks. He attended grade school in Akron and was currently a junior at Akron-Westfield High School. He was working for Pizza Hut in Le Mars.

Tyler loved bowling and was a member of the Akron-Westfield bowling team. He enjoyed playing the yugioh card game. He also enjoyed boxing, fishing, and golfing. He also liked listening to music. He will be remembered for kindness and his friendship to many. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Survivors include his mother and step-father: Jodi and Jamie Banks of Akron, IA; two siblings: Taron Banks and Tabitha Banks, both at home; his grandparents: Gerald and Gale Conrad of Sioux City, Denny and Joan Bradstreet of Sioux City, Fred Brown of Westfield, IA, and Joe and Caryl Banks of Akron, IA; his aunts: Melissa Dawdy of Le Mars, IA, Brenda Macadoo of Jacksonville, FL, Pamela Irwin of Richland, SD, Angie Glann of Sioux Falls, SD, Jodi Basart and her husband Dave of Sioux Falls, SD, and Julie Zavadill and her husband Hugh of Wichita, KS; his uncles: Troy Conrad and his wife Jennifer of Boone, IA, Duane Hughes and his wife Andrea of Sioux City, IA, David Brown and his wife Mindy of Sioux City, IA, Jeff Banks and his wife Linda of Centerville, SD, Jerry Banks of Mc Cook Lake, SD, and Jon Banks of Akron, IA; and several cousins and other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Guy Dawdy and grandmother: Pat Brown.
