Archie Port Jr., 40, of North English, Iowa passed away on Thursday, March 22, 2007 at his home.

A Celebration of Life Service will be 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 27, 2007 at the Carlsen Funeral Home in Le Mars with Reverend Gary Landsness of St. John’s Lutheran Church, E.L.C.A. officiating. Visitations with the family present will be from 6:00 p.m. until service time.

Archie Dean Port Jr. was born November 18, 1966 in Le Mars, Iowa to Archie Sr. and Kathy (Rieken) Port. He was raised in Seney, Iowa and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Le Mars. He received his education in the Le Mars Community School District. In 2000, Archie received a heart transplant. Following his surgery, Archie lived in North Liberty, Iowa and later moved to North English in 2001. He enjoyed woodworking, construction, horses, fishing and watching a “good ole western.” He lived to be 40 years, 4 months, and 5 days.

Survivors include his wife Chris Huber of North English, Iowa; a daughter, Makayla Collins of Le Mars, Iowa; a son, Zachery Port of Merrill, Iowa; 2 step-sons, Zackary and Cody Huber of North English; a step-daughter, Madysen Huber of North English; his father, Archie Port Sr. and his wife Kay of Alton, Iowa; step-father, Jim Burnett of Seney, Iowa; a brother, Terry Port of Le Mars; a sister, Kim Snyder and her husband Scott of Alton, Iowa; 3 step-brothers, Rusty Burnett and his special friend Theresa Kinney of Le Mars, Jeff Burdette and his wife Tara of Le Mars, and Troy Lindberg of Arizona; a step-sister, Aimee Holder and her husband Donald of Sioux City, Iowa; grandmother, Viola Rieken of Seney; and several aunts, uncles, and many nieces and nephews.

Archie was preceded in death by his mother Kathy Burnett; grandparents, Alva and Velma Port and William Rieken; and a step-brother Jimmy Burnett.
