ERPELDING, HOFFMAN, HOFFMANN

Note:Though the obituary doesn't mention it, her first name is Barbara.

Mrs. Peter Erpelding passed away at her home in Merrill at an early hour on Monday morning. The deceased was born in the Grand Duchy, of Luxembourg, Germany, in May, 1842, and came to America in 1870. Two years after her arrival in this country she was married to Peter Erpelding at Sioux City and soon after that they came to this county where they have resided ever since, Mr. Erpelding still survives with nine children born of this union .J. P Hoffman, of this city is a brother of the deceased who also leaves other relatives in this vicinity.

The funeral was held from the Catholic church in Merrill at 10 o'clock on Wednesday morning and the remains were laid to rest in the Ellendale Cemetery.

Mrs. Erpelding was a woman whose influence for good in the community in which she has made her home will be fell for many years after the seal of death was placed on a most useful and exemplary life. She was a thorough Christian wife and mother In every sense, and all who came in contact with her were greatly benefitted thereby.
