Mrs. Clifford Kennedy, 80, of Okoboki and Mesa, Ariz., formerly of Akron, died Tuesday (Dec. 18, 1979) at Phoenix of a brief illness.

Services were held at 1:30 p.m. Friday in the Schroeder funeral home at Akron. Dr. Carrol Mclaughlin officiated. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery.

Casket bearers were Lyle Jacobs, Fay Kerr, John Kennedy, John Dirks, Mac Thorson, Jeff Blanchard.

Mrs. Kennedy, the former Marguerite Brown, was born Nov. 9, 1899, at Rock Valley. She was married June 7, 1924, at Akron. She was a registered nurse in the Sioux City and Akron area for many years. The Kennedys were lifelong Akron residents until they retired in 1964 and moved to Okoboji.

Survivors include the widower; one daughter, Mrs. David (Kathleen) Blanchard of Howard, S.D.; one son, James, C. Jr., of Washington, Ill.; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one brother, Jesse of Okoboji, and one sister, Mrs. Ruth Winter of Silver Springs, Md.
