Albrik Heimgartner collapses at work in Hinton cemetery

Albrik (A. J.) Heimgartner, 62, a native of Plymouth county, died unexpectedly Tuesday (April 27, 1976) at rural Hinton.

Mr. Heimgartner accompanied a Le Mars man to the Trinity Lutheran cemetery where a headstone was being erected. He collapsed there and the Hinton rescue unit was called to rush him to Floyd Valley hospital in Le Mars, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

He was born Jan. 17, 1914, in Plymouth county to Henry and Katherine Voegoli Heimgartner and was a lifelong resident. He attended school in Lincoln township and was farming south of Le Mars.

Mr. Heimgartner and Elsie Schulz were married Sept. 3. 1941, at Trinity Lutheran church, Lincoln township. He was a member of that church where he was active and held offices in the church. He was a member of the board of directors of the Farmers elevator at Hinton and was past president of LLL, Sioux City zone.

Funeral services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran church, with Rev. Arthur Schuetz officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery under direction of the Luken-Johnson funeral home.

Survivors are his wife Elsie, Le Mars; a son Harlan of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; a daughter, Mrs. Ronald (JoEllen) Cronin. Le Mars; a foster daughter, Mrs. Dale (Phyllis) Riediger, Hinton; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren; four brothers, Rueben of Kingsley; Elroy and Duane of Hinton and Rev. Robert Heimgartner of Manson, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
