Jesse Milton Hoffman was born on January 27, 1888, in Grand Meadow Township and died in the Zimmerman home In Le Mars October 27, 1939. He was educated and grew to manhood in Grand Meadow. In 1913 he was united In marriage to Maud Mahoney and located on a farm in Grand Meadow, where he lived until stricken with illness which compelled him to quit farming and he went to live with his parents in Kingsley. In 1937 he went to the Zimmerman home in Le Mars.
He was preceded in death by his Infant son, Jesse Dale, his sister, Elvira, and father, Phillip Hoffman.
He leaves to mourn his death, his mother, Mrs. Jennie Hoffman, two sisters, Mrs. B, J. Luce, of Quimby and Mrs. C. W. Barwick, of Pierson one brother, Ralph Hoffman, of Le Mars, three nephews and three nieces.
Services were held at Derby & Dickison funeral home with Rev. Arnold Marzolf of Western Union College in charge. Music was furnished by Western Union students, pianist, Ardel Allison, and a quartet composed of Dale Ammon, Caryl Ziettlow, Wilbur Fatka and Howard Fatka.
Pall bearers were John Pock, W. Vining, Carl Pullman, Arch Thompson, Ernest Anderson, LeLand Case, Interment was made in the family plot in the Kingsley Cemetery.
Among out of town friends at the funeral were Mr., T. E, Leonard, Mrs. Chris Webbard, Wessington Springs, S. D., Mr. and Mrs. Howard Hammer, Estherville. Iowa, Mrs. Geo, Overmire, Lee Overmire, Mrs. Laura Robinson of Sioux City.
