Lee Horsley, 82, of Sioux City passed away Wednesday, June 1, 2005 at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City.
A memorial service will be Saturday, June 18 at Salix Community United Methodist Church with Rev. Lanette Plambeck officiating.
Lee Oliver Horsely was born September 13,1922 in Sioux City, the son of Oliver and Alma Lee (Shipley) Horsley. He was raised and attended school in Sioux City. Lee served in the Navy during World War II. He was a plumber. He worked at Sears for 17 years where he received the Contractor Excellence award. He became self employed. Lee built his own home in 1959 where he has lived ever since.
Lee loved catfishing and hunting with his two black labs. He managed a girls Softball team that remained undefeated for six years!
Survivors include one daughter, Niki Jones and her husband, Dan, of Salix, IA; four sons, Ron, and his wife, Verna Horsley of Eldridge, IA; Mark, and his wife, Amy Fletcher, of Phoenix, AR; Daivd, and his wife, Betti Horsley, of Sioux City; and Wayne Horsley of Sioux City; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters.
