Death claims husbands of three sisters within 48 hours

Three sisters, Mrs. Ralph (Gertrude) Kaelke, Belgrade, Minn., Mrs. Chris (Etta) Kluver, Starbuck,

Minn, and Mrs. George (Amanda) Bultman of Akron, all lost their husbands within a 49 hour period.

All three woman are the daughters of the late Gerd and Anna Borchers Ludwigs, lifelong Chatsworth residents.

Chris G. Kluver

Christian George (Chris) Kluver, Starbuck, Minn., former Akron area resident died Nov. 29, 1989 in Starbuck. Services were held Saturday, Dec. 2 at 11 a. m. at St. Paul's Lutheran church in Lowry, Minn. The Rev. Neal Olson officiated. Burial was in St. Paul's Lutheran cemetery in Lowry. Honorary bearers were his granddaughters, Barb Friedricksen, Charlotte Bucholtz, Julie Peterson, Renee Kluver, Kathy Kluver, and Michelle Berg. Casket bearers were Mike Millikan, Tom Anderson, Doug Kluver, Troy Kluver, Steven Peterson and Kevin Kluver.

Mr. Kluver was born Sept. 17, 1898 in Fehmarn Island, Germany and came to the United States and the Akron area with his parents at the age of 5 years. He married Etta Ludwigs Oct. 20, 1926 at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gerd Ludwigs of Chatsworth. They farmed in the Chatsworth area until 1936, and moved into Chatsworth where they resided for 17 years. They later moved to Ida Grove and in 1949 they moved to Starbuck, Minn.

Survivors include his wife, Etta; four sons, Donald Lee Kluver of Oregon, Chris of Minneapolis, Vernon of Farwell, Minn., Durwood Kluver of Believe, Neb.; five daughters, Deloris Millikan of Bloomfield, Neb., Florence Jones of Hartley, Iowa, Irene Kluver of Centerville, Iowa, Alvina Peterson of White Bear Lake, Minn, and Verletta Berg of Elk River, Minn.; one brother John Kluver of Minnesota; one sister, Freida Onken of Le Mars; 35 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers.
