Emma P. Baack died Aug. 11, 1978 at Douglas county Memorial hospital at Armour. S.D., after a lingering illness. She was the daughter of the late William and Paullina Pallutz. She lived in Westfield and Akron communities and taught school in that area and at Craig as well as in Montana. Her marriage to Herman Baack took place in1923.

Two daughters were born to the couple. Martha Marie died at age 2 years and Humina Juran,Wagner. S.D., survives. Also surviving is a granddaughter, Sheila Anderson, and two grandsons, Loren and Ronald Anderson of Welch. Minn.

Mrs. Baack operated a grocery store and truck line and was postmistress for 26 years at Craig. After retiring from that position she joined VISTA for 2 years and then retired at Wagner.

Her parents and one daughter preceded her in death.
