PETER RANN, 89, OF REMSEN BURIED

Peter Rann, 89, retired Remsen farmer and longtime resident there, died Tuesday evening, May 7, at the home north of Remsen of a daughter, Mrs. Adolph Witt.

Mr. Rann was born Sept. 2, 1867, in Germany and came to this country at the age of 15. He first settled at Keystone, Iowa, and was married there Dec. 20, 1888, to Johanna Meyer.

The couple lived in the Keystone area for three years and then moved to a farm near Granville. The Ranns had lived in Remsen since 1911. Mrs. Rann died in 1940.

Surviving are a son, Henry of Remsen; three daughters, Mrs. Witt, Mrs. Frank Sanny of Luverne, Minn., and Mrs. F. A. Mylan of Remsen; eight grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Funeral services were held Friday at 1:30 p.m. at the Moeller Funeral Home and 2 p.m. at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church at Remsen. Burial was in the Remsen cemetery.
