Edward Marienau, 92, of Merrill died Sunday, (May 16,1982), at Brentwood Nursing Home in Le Mars.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in St. John's Lutheran Church in Merrill. Rev. Harold Norheim will officiate. Burial win be in the Merrill Hillside Cemetery.
There will be a prayer service at 7 p.m. Monday in the Mauer Funeral Home in Le Mars.
Mr. Marienau was born July 18, 1889, in Plymouth County to Ernest and Elizabeth Osterbuhr Marienau. He was a lifelong area resident and was a retired farmer. He married Caroline Mattas Nov. 15,1916, in rural Merrill. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church.
Survivors are his wife; three sons, Melvin of Le Mars, Edward and Frank, both of Merrill; five daughters, Mrs. Francis (Marian) Baker and Mrs. Merton (Wilma) Jessen,both of Merrill. Mrs. Virgil (Norma) Vanderloo of Ackley, Mrs. Gaylon (Waneta) Tevis of Federal Way, Wash., and Mrs. Richard (Carol) Stroup of Sioux City; one sister, Mrs. Fred (Rose) Schuldt of Sioux City; 21 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Dorothy, four sisters and three brothers.
