LORENZ A. KOWALKE

Lorenz A. Kowalke, 73, Sioux City, died Sunday afternoon (Jan. 2, 1977) at a Sioux City hospital after a brief illness.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Calvary Lutheran Church. Rev. Grant Quill will officiate.

Burial will be in Memorial Park cemetery under the direction of Rutledge-Gulsrud funeral chapel.

Mr. Kowalke was born Feb. 24, 1903, in Hinton, and graduated from the former Central high school in 1923. He married Irma Grauer in 1933 in Hinton. He was employed at Saunders Oil Co. as an accountant and was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church.

Survivors are his wife; a son, Ward, of Minneapolis; a daughter, Mrs. Carol Popovich, of Minneapolis; four brothers Walter of Sioux City and Albert, Herman and Arnold, all of LeMars; a sister, Mrs. Vera Peterson of LeMars, and six grandchildren.
