Hildegarde "Check" Fisch, 84, of Le Mars, died unexpectedly Tuesday, March 24, 1992, at Floyd Valley Hospital in Le Mars.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Le Mars, with the Rev. Dale George officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Le Mars. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Friday, with a Christian Mothers rosary at 4 p.m. and a scriptural wake service at 7:30 p.m., at Luedtke- Feuerstein Funeral Home in Le Mars.

Mrs. Fisch, the former Hildegarde Schaecher, was born on Sept. 2, 1907, in Parkston, S.D., the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Schaecher. She moved to Lindsay, Neb., at an early age and lived there until 1928. At that time, she entered nurses training at Creighton Memorial St. Joseph Hospital in Omaha and graduated in June 1930. She practiced her profession until June 1934. She married Dr. R.J. Fisch at Holy Family Catholic Church in Lindsay. The couple lived in Tecumsen, Neb., for one year, where he was a medical officer in a CCC Company. In May 1935, they moved to Le Mars, where he established his permanent practice. He died Feb. 1,1992. Mrs. Fisch was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, the Church Guild, and the Christian Mothers Society. She was a charter member of the Chapter AO TTT Society.

Survivors include a daughter, Ann Withrow and her husband, Bud of Le Mars; three sons and. their wives, Alan Fisch and Kay of Osage Beach, Mo., Tom Fisch and Suzanne of Overland Park, Kan., and Paul Fisch and Barbara of Temple, Texas; 10 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Oscar Liskc of Rock Island, Ill.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two sisters, Mrs. Herman Weedner and Mrs. Paul Putman; and a brother, Joseph Schaecher. A memorial has been established in her name, in conjunction with her husband, with St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Le Mars.
