Jerry Johnson, 51, of Le Mars, died Monday, April 23, 1990, in a Sioux City hospital after a long illness.

Services were held at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. John's American Lutheran church in Craig, under direction of Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home of Le Mars.

Mr. Johnson was born Sept. 19, 1938, in Craig to Mike O. and Marian (Worchester) Johnson. He married Ardis Renken Nov. 27, 1960 in Christ Lutheran church, rural Le Mars. He was disabled for 17 years. Mr. Johnson was a member of St. John's Lutheran church in Le Mars, Heeren-McHale-Wilken Post 724 American Legion of Brunsville, and a past member of Siouxland Committee for Handicapped. He served in the U.S. navy from 1958 to 1962.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Mark Johnson of Le Mars; two daughters, Robin Herbst and her husband, Brian of Ankeny, and Melissa Johnson of Le Mars; and three grandchildren, Keerea, Ashley and Samantha.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Larry.
