Bernard F. Beaubien, 71, 2525 S. Olive St., Sioux City, died Sunday, April 22,1990, at St. Luke's Regional Medical Center after a long illness.

Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Christy Morningside funeral home. Rev. Robert Wendell of Grace United Methodist Church officiated. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mr. Beaubien was born March 25, 1919, at Westfield, Ia., and attended Westfield schools. He lived in Storm Lake, for a few years before moving to Sioux City in 1942. Mr. Beaubien married Marjorie F. Smith July 6, 1938, in Sioux City. He worked in livestock Sales at the Sioux City Stockyards for about 40 years retiring in 1982. Mr. Beaubien was active in softball in leagues in Sioux City as a player and coach. He also participated in several bowling leagues and won the city singles championship one year. He was a World War II veteran, and was a member of Hoschler American Legion post #186.

He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Mrs. J. Robert (Diane) Clark and Mrs. Carl (Donna) Gilbertson, both of Sioux City; a son, Gary and his wife, Diana of Sioux City; a brother, Phillip of Westfield and a sister, Mrs (Catherine Foster of Sioux City; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren:

Mr. Beaubien was preceded in death by two brothers, Gerald (Stuff) and John; and two sisters, Florence Kapfer and Gertrude Woll.
