Loren "Lou" Stinehart, 58, 186 S. Prairie Lane, Mandan, N.D., former Akron resident, died March 30, 1990, in Bismarck hospital of cancer.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday at First Lutheran Church, Mandan. Rev. Richard Hagesteun officiated. Burial was in Mandan Union Cemetery, under direction of Weigel funderal home in Mandan.
Mr. Stinehart was born Feb. 23, 1932, to Harold and Anna Valstad Stinehart, in Union county, S.D., where he was raised and educated. He graduated from the Akron High School. He worked at Rigsby Trucking Co., and United Buckingham Trucking Co. He moved to Mandan in 1978 and worked for Consolidated Freightways' from 1978 1989. He served in the U.S. army during the Korean conflict. He married Karen Stockert Aug. 9, 1989. He was a member of Teamsters, American Legion and Eagles.
He is survived by his wife; three sons, Tom of Rawlings, Wyo., and Tim and Jeremy, both of Mandan; two daughters, Julie Stinehart of Algiers, Algeria, and Linda Balstad of Sergeant Bluff; two sisters, Mrs. Clifford (Shirley) Miller, Akron, and Rhoda Jennings of Venice, Calif.; and one grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Ralph.
