Gordon M. Mammen, 80, Le Mars, died Wednesday (March 21, 1990) at his home of a brief illness.

Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Friday in St. John's American Lutheran Church in Le Mars. Rev. David Kramer officiated. Burial was in Le Mars Memorial cemetery under direction of Mauer Johnson Funeral Home, Le Mars.

Mr. Mammen was born Feb. 7, 1910 in Bay Point, Calif., the son of Henry and Hanna (Roepke) Mammen. He married Amelia Dirks Jan. 28,1940 at Onawa. He farmed in the Le Mars area for many years and retired in 1982 from Van beek Implement in Le Mars. Mr. Mammen was a member of St. John's American Lutheran church in Le Mars.

Survivors include his wife, Amelia; a daughter, Colette Mammen of Le Mars; two sons and their wives, Harris Mammen and Mary Beth Kehrberg; and grandchildren, Frank Kehrberg and Brianna Kehrberg of Merrill, and Roger and Rosalyn Lueck-Mammen and grandchildren, David and Dana of Tacoma, Wash.; two nieces and a nephew.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.

Memorials may be made at St. John's American Lutheran church of Le Mars or Hospice of Siouxland.
