Wendell Clare McAninch, 80, Le Mars, died Tuesday, March 20. 1990 at the Abbey in Le Mars. He was a Hawarden native.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in Le Mars. Rev. Gary Landsness officiated. Burial was in Grace Hill Cemetery in Hawarden.

Mr. McAninch was born July 13, 1909, at Hawarden to Harry and Elinore Anderson McAninch. He married Freida Wilken Feb. 27, 1940, at St. John's Lutheran church, rural Akron. He was a retired farmer.

Survivors are his wife, Freida, and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and a nephew.
