Lee Oordt, 47, Le Mars, died Thursday, March 15,1990, in a Sioux City hospital after a brief illness.

Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday in St. James Catholic Church in Le Mars with Monsignor Michael Sernett officiating. Burial was in Calvary cemetery, under direction of the Luedtke Feuerstein Funeral Home in Le Mars.

Mr. Oordt was born Sept 30, 1942, at Orange City, the son of Richard and Elizabeth (Dykstra)Oordt. He grew up in Orange City where he attended elementary school. He graduated from Maurice-Orange City High School in 1960. On Nov. 20, 1971, he married Marlis Drecknian in Struble. He owned and operated a Snap-On-Tool franchise. He later worked for the Le Mars Daily Sentinel and then as an advertising salesman for KLEM Radio. He was currently employed with the Le Mars Daily Sentinel. Mr. Oordt was a past board member of the Le Mars Chamber of Commerce and past member of the Le Mars volunteer fire department. He was an active member in Pheasants Forever and Le Mars Sportsman's Club. He was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles and was active in numerous community affairs.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Vince, at home; brother Stan of Maurice and nieces and nephews.
