Emma J. Luschen, 92, Le Mars, died Friday, Feb. 9, 1990, in a Le Mars nursing home after an extended illness.

Services were held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at St. John's American Lutheran Church in Le Mars. The Rev. Gary Landsness officiated. Burial was in Christ Lutheran Church Cemetery, rural Le Mars, under direction of the Mauer Johnson Funeral Home, Le Mars.

Mrs. Luschen, the former Emma Frerichs, was born Sept. 12,1897, in Plymouth County to George and Martha (Zimmerman) Frerichs. She married Henry Luschen March 1, 1916 in Akron. She was lifetime resident of Plymouth county, a homemaker and a former employee of the Plymouth County Home. She was a member of St. John's American Lutheran Church in Le Mars.

Survivors include a son, Arlen (Louie) of Le Mars; one daughter, Mrs. Herman (Edna) Pecks, and a daughter-in-law, Emma Luschen, all of Le Mars; eight grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and one greatgreat- granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Henry in 1952; two sons, Raymond and Leonard; a daughter, Dorothy; a great-grandson Troy Utesch; five brothers, Henry, Ernest, Jack, George and an infant brother and two sisters, Gertrude Eilers and Anna Rembe.
