Leslie A. Henke, 59, of Elk Point, died Wednesday (Feb. 7, 1990) in a Rochester, Minn, hospital.
Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday in Immanuel Lutheran Church in Akron. The Rev. William Flemr officiated. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery at Akron. Visitation was held Sunday at the Schroeder Funeral home in Akron. Soloist was Gary Tucker. Carol Harris was organist.
Pallbearers were Mike Caskey, Ron Hoffman, Tom Nason, Raymond Henke, Gordon Kleihauer and Alan Timm.
Honorary pallbearers were Elmer Dimmick and Dave Maynard.
Mr. Henke was bora Aug. 19, 1930, in Union County, South Dakota, to John and Mayme (Talbott) Henke. He attended Sayles Country School. He married LilaTimm May 31, 1956, in Elk Point. The couple made their home in rural Elk Point, where they farmed all their married life. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Richard of Akron; two daughters, Mrs. Jeff (Debbie) Bergstrasser of Hill Air Force Base, Utah and Mrs. Frank (Wanda) Minor of Jefferson; a granddaughter; one sister, Margaret Eden of Puyallup. Wash., and two brothers, William "Buzz" of Akron and Wayne of Elk Point.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and six brothers and sisters.
