Harry Christ Giffrow, 72, Stanchfield, Minn., died unexpectedly Saturday, June 6, 1992, at Memorial Hospital in Cambridge, Minn.
Services were June 9 at Braham Lutheran Church, Braham, Minn. Rev. Julie Beck officiated. The Rock Randall funeral home was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Giffrow was born April 30, 1914 in Akron, Ia., where he attended school and grew to manhood. He married Anje Boomgaarden in Flandrau, S.D. They moved to Stanchfield, Minn. in 1950, where he worked as an iron worker and farmed. He retired in 1976. He was an active longtime member of the Sportsman Club and of the Braham Evangelical Lutheran Church. He loved woodworking and made many things for the church with this skillful talent. He also loved gardening and watching the "Twins".
Survivors include his wife, Anje of Stanchfield, Minn.; six daughters, Violet Peliken and her husband, Frank of Rolla, Mo., Pearl Bacon and her husband, Kenneth of Stanchfield, Harriet Lidke of Braham, Angeline Giffrow and his wife, Debbie of Stanchfield; a daughter-in-law Mary Ann Giffrow of Stanchfield; 17 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; three sisters; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, three sisters, two sons-in-law, and son, Harvey Giffrow in 1988.
