SOMMERVOLD, ABRAHAM, CHRISTENSEN

Olivia Sommervold, 98, of Akron, died Tuesday, May 19, 1992, at the Akron Care Center following a long illness.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 Thursday, May 21 at Union Creek Lutheran church, rural Akron. Rev. William Flemr will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery, under direction of Schroeder Funeral Home in Akron. Visitation will be, from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home,with family present from 7 to 8 p.m. Soloist Richard Puttmann will sing "Who Is The Host Arrayed In White" and "In The Sweet By and By", accompanied by organist Mary Sommervold. Congregational singing of hymn 518, "Beautiful Saviour" will be accompanied by organist Ruth Stoutenburg.

Pallbearers are Morris Sommervold, Peter Sommervold, Warren D. Wilkens, Alan Sommervold, Richard Puttmann and Delmer Abraham.

Mrs. Sommervold was born Feb. 11, 1894, in rural Akron, to Peder and Julia Christensen Abraham. She married Alfred Sommervold, Sept. 29, 1915, at Vermillion, S.D. They farmed their entire life in the area. Mr. Sommervold died Oct. 7, 1970. She was a member of Union Creek Lutheran Church and was very active for many years in the ELCW. She loved music and played the organ in her home for many years. She also loved flowers and raising a garden. She moved to the Akron Care
Center over 10 years ago.

Survivors include two sons and their wives, Alvin and Gertrude Sommervold of Akron, Arlo and Mary Sommervold of Sioux Falls, S.D.; one daughter, Opal Robertson of Akron; two sisters and their husbands, Marie and Ole Ronnei of Carnation, Wash., and Violet and Harvey Sand of Beresford, S.D.; two brothers and their wives,
Leonard and Judy Abraham of Snoquaimie, Wash., and Clarence Abraham of Beresford; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Pearl Wilkens; two sons-in-law, Henry Wilkens and Jay Robertson; one granddaughter, Denise Robertson; and 12 brothers and sisters.
