Mrs. Alice Seibels, 77, wife of JohnnSeibels, of Le Mars, died at the family home Thursday, January 6, 1938, following a lingering illness.
Alice Bockhoff was born at Bruckenfehn, Germany, November 16, 1860, where she grew to young womanhood She came to America in 1891, to Minonk
County, Illinois, and was married there to Folkert Saathoff in the following year. Four children born to this union are: Mrs. George Gleck, Edgemont, S. D.; Heio Saathoff, Hawarden; Gord. Saathoff, Akron, and Mrs. Claus Frerichs, of Le Mars. Mr. and Mrs. Saathoff came to Plymouth ;county soon after their marriage, and
Mr. Saathoff was engaged in painting and farming. He died many years ago.Mrs. Saathoff later married John Seibols, in 1921, and they engaged in farming west of Le Mars, until their retirement, when they moved to Le Mars. In addition to her own children, her death is mourned by her husband and her step-children, Emil Seibels, of Barneston, Nebr.; Harry Seibels, of Le Mars, and Mrs. Ben Andresen, of Westfield; also by twenty grandchildren. Mrs. Seibels had a large acquaintance in the county through her long residence, and while health permitted was active in church and community affairs and was highly esteemed by those who knew her.
The funeral was held Saturday afternoon in St. John's Lutheran church in Le Mars, Rev. L. L. Belk officiating. Interment was in the Le Mars cemetery.
