Leslie L. Burnight, 76, Sioux City, died Tuesday, Feb. 18, 1992, at Holy Spirit Retirement Home in Sioux City, after a long illness.

Services were Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Rev. James Bruch officiating. Burial was in St. Joseph's cemetery in Akron, under direction of Berkemier funeral home, Sioux City.

Mr. Burnight was born April 3, 1915, in Akron and graduated from the Akron high school. He moved to California in 1936 and returned to Sioux City in 1950. In 1962, he moved to rural Westfield, where he farmed. He was employed by Coomer Construction Co., as a carpenter, for many years. Mr. Burnight was a member of the Carpenter's Union local 948.

Survivors include a son and his wife, Larry and Carol Burnight of Long Beach, Calif.; three brothers, Patrick K. of North Sioux City, Joseph R. of Waterbury, Neb. and Richard of Sioux City; a sister, Rosemary Lutter of Bronson, Iowa; and four grand- children.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Georgia; a daughter, Linda Lodjic; and two brothers, Edward and Burneil.
