Mrs. Alice Josephine Hansen, 82, Akron, died Tuesday, January 28, 1992 at Marian Health Center, Sioux City, after a brief illness.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 30, at Immanuel Lutheran church, Akron. Rev. William Flemr officiating. "Day By Day" and "Children Of The Heavenly Father" will be sung by vocalist Jon Harris, accompanied by Carol Harris, organist. Visitation will be Wednesday, Jan. 29 from 2 to 8 p.m. with the family present from 7 to 8 p.m. Burial will be in Riverside cemetery under direction of Schroeder Funeral home, Akron.
Pallbearers will be Lyle Jacobs, Viggo Henriksen, Melvin Nielsen, John Bultman, Francis Jacobson, and Gary Parker.
Mrs. Hansen was born January 2, 1910 at Kiron, Iowa, the daughter of Alfred and Betty Miller. She moved to. Union1 County, S.D., where she attended school. She married Melvin C. Hansen May 26, 1928 at Elk Point, S.D. They farmed most of their lives in South Dakota, and the Akron area. They retired to Akron in 1953. She was active in Immanuel Lutheran church women and was a long-time member of Immanuel Lutheran church in Akron. She was baptized and confirmed in South St. Paul Lutheran church, Union county-
Survivors include her husband, Melvin, two sons, Curtis and his wife Barbara of Akron, LaRue and his wife Adele of Sioux City; three grandchildren, Sonja Harms and her husband Jeff of Le Mars, Staci Hansen of Akron, and Pamela Hansen of Sioux City; a great-granddaughter, Samantha Harms; a sister, Irene Parker of Akron; a brother, Morris Miller of St. Cloud, Minn.; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Esther Sand; a brother, Leslie Miller; and a great-granddaughter Rachel Harms.
