Margaretha J. Toel

Margaretha J. Toel, 97, Sioux City, and formerly of Brunsville and Hinton, died Tuesday, Dec. 22, 1992, at Indian Hills Care Center, Sioux City.

Services were held Thursday at Mauer-Johnson funeral home in Le Mars with Rev. Larry Felt Officiating. Burial was in Memorial cemetery.

Mrs. Toel was born June 30, 1895, at Holstein, Germany, the daughter of Theodore Fredrick Scheff and Johanna Gertrude Ehler. She came to the United States in 1913 and married Fred Toel on March 7, 1914, in Le Mars. He died in 1944.

Mrs. Toel lived at Brunsville until 1944 when she moved to Hinton. She then moved to Sioux City in 1947.

Survivors include two sons and their wives, Louis and Louise of Le Mars, and Wilbur and Olga of Sioux City; six grandchildren, Randall Toel and his wife La Rae, Dennis Toel and his wife Jean, all of Le Mars, Ronald Toel of Phoenix, Ariz., David Toel and his wife Debra of Hinton, and Karen Murray and her husband Richard of Sioux City; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sisters; and a grandson.
