George B. Oetken, 91, of Le Mars died Sunday, Feb. 21, 1993, at his residence.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Brunsville, with the Rev. Jack Hebard officiating.
Burial will be in St. Peter Lutheran Cemetery under the direction of Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in Le Mars.
Mr. Oetken was born Nov. 1, 1907, in Preston township, the son of Rank and Minnie (Renken) Oetken. He was a lifelong Plymouth county resident. He married Clara Popken Feb. 6, 1932, in Preston township. The couple farmed until their retirement in 1980.
Mr. Oetken was a member of St. Peter Lutheran church in Brunsville.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Beverly Held and her husband, Thomas of Hinton; two sons, Alwayne Oetken and his wife, Kathleen of Le Mars and Warren Oetken and his wife, Sheryl of Merrill, Iowa, 13 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; a brother, Earl Oetken and his wife, Darlene of Akron; two sisters, Irene Pralle of Rock Rapids, Iowa, and Darlene Lange of Paullina, Iowa; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Harry and Elmer; and two sisters, Rose Muth and Mildred Rozell.
