Katherine Lehmann

Mrs. John (Katherine) Lehmann, 92, a resident of the Leeds Nursing home and former Merrill resident, died Sunday at the nursing home after a long illness.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at St. John Lutheran church in Merrill with Rev. Harold Norheim officiating. Burial will be in Hillside cemetery, Merrill, under direction of Mauer Funeral Home.

The former Katherine Kress was born Aug. 29, 1877, in Harrison county, a daughter of the late George and Katherine (Trometer) Kress. She married John Lehmann March 12, 1902, in Johnson township, rural Merrill.

She came to Plymouth county and the Merrill and Hinton vicinity at age 5 and had lived in the area since. She has been a resident of the Leeds Nursing home the last year and a half and the six years prior to that she resided with a son, Elmer, in Sioux City.

She was a member of St. John Lutheran church, Merrill.

She was preceded in death by her husband, a son George, two sisters and a brother.

Survivors are a son, Elmer of Sioux City; a daughter, Mrs. Vincent (Violet) Shea of Wauconda, III.; 14 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
