Ethel L. Brown, 88 of Le Mars a
lifelong Plymouth County re-
sident died Thursday, May 27,
1993, at Floyd Valley Hospital
In Le Mars.

Mrs. Brown was born May 1,
1905, in Washington Township,
Plymouth County, to Charles J.
and Hilda (Erickson) Rowe. She
attended rural school in Washington
Township. She moved to the Adaville
area in 1926. She married Bertsel
Brown Feb. 18, 1926, at Adaville.

After their marriage, they
farmed the same farm for 50 years.

Mr. Brown died in 1972. Mrs.
Brown moved to Le Mars in 1976.

She was a member of the First
United Methodist Church in Le
Mars, the United Methodist Women
and the Order of the Eastern
Star White Shrine at Sioux City.
She was a past Plymouth County
4-H chairman and Sunshine Club
member.

Survivors include many nieces,
nephews and friends.

She also was preceded in death by
her parents; two brothers, Foster
and Harlan Rowe and two sisters,
Mabel Love and Edith Eilks.

Services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday,
June 1, at the Adaville
United Methodist Church, rural Merrill
with Rev. Shirley Textor officiating.

Burial will be in Pleasant Valley
Cemetery, rural Merrill. Visitation
Is after 4 p.m. Monday with the family
present from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Mauer-
Johnson Funeral Home in Le Mars.
