HAD BEEN IN POOR HEALTH FOR A LONG TIME
LIVED HERE MOST OF HIS LIFE
Came to Plymouth County with His Parents when a Small Child and Grew Up and Was Married Here.
Lived Latterly at Granville.
Will Colling, of Granville, died at his home there, on Tuesday night, after a long illness. Mr. Colling was well known in Le Mars and Plymouth county as he lived here for many years of his life. " William Colling was born at Cascadia on March 17, 1872, and when he was three years old his parents moved to this county settling on a farm where William grew up.
He was united in marriage October 18, 1888, to Mary Lewis. After his marriage he bought a farm three miles east of Le Mars where he lived for a few years and then moved to Woodstock, Minn., where he lived for four years. In 1904 he moved back to Le Mars and engaged in the saloon, and pool hall business. In 1908 with his family he moved to Paullina where he lived until 1915 when he bought a farm near Granville where he resided until his death.
He is survived by his wife and five children who are Arthur, Ernest, Charles, Angelina and Roman. He also leaves to mourn his death four sisters and a brother, who are Mrs. N. D. Kellen, living south of Le Mars; Mrs. Nic Freymann and Miss Catherine Colling, of Le Mars; Miss Christine Colling, of Sioux City, and Nicholas Colling, of Randolph, Neb.
William Colling had a large circle of friends in Le Mars and Vicinity and was a good citizen who enjoyed the respect of his neighbors.
The funeral services will be held at St. Joseph's church in this city this morning.
