Eldon Sitzman
dead at 52

Eldon Sitzman, 52, Sioux City, a Plymouth
county native, died early Tuesday
(June 17,1980) at St. Joseph's hospital,
Sioux City, after a lengthy illness.

Funeral services, under direction of
the W. Harry Christy funeral home,
1801 Morningside, will be Thursday at
10 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic
church, Sioux City.

Burial will be in St. Joseph cemetery,
Neptune, Lincoln township.

A prayer service will be Wednesday
evening at the funeral home.

He was preceded in death by his
father, Clarence Sitzman.

Eldon John Sitzman was born July
23, 1927, near Neptune, Stanton
township, to Clarence and Alvina Ruhland
Sitzman.

He worked for Armour's Packing
for 26 years and had a lengthy illness.
Mr. Sitzman served in the United
States navy for two years.

His marriage to Dorothy Soloman
took place April 7,1974.

Survivors are his wife, Dorothy, of
Sioux City; six sons, Dallas, Martin
and Eldon Jr., all of Sioux City;
Charles of Anchorage, Alaska; Steven
(Pat) of Kansas; and Leslie at home.

Five daughters, Mrs. Bill (Anna
Marie) McMillin, Belton, Mo.; Mrs.
Bruce (Christina) Wiggins, Council
Bluffs; Mrs. Pete (Sheila) Hodges,
Lawton, Okla.; Dorothy and Barbara,
at Hornet; a step-daughter, Jo Anne
Hofferkamp, Little Falls, Minn.

Also surviving are three step-sons,
Harry Soloman Jr. and Ed Parsley,
both of Sioux City, and H. Lee Soloman
of California.

His mother, Mrs. Alvina Sitzman,
Sioux City, survives, as do three
brothers, DeWayne, Darvin and Dennis,
all of Sioux City, and a sister,
Mrs. Robert (Virginia) Petersen of
Merrill.

Surviving are 25 grandchildren.
