Prominent Citizen of Grant Township
Dies of Pneumonia—Funeral
Tomorrow P. M.Henry Rieken, 63 years of age,
passed away at his farm home in
Grant township, Sunday morning, after
a sickness lasting 10 days.Pneumonia was the cause of his
death.The funeral will be held tomorrow
afternoon from the home at 1 o'clock
and at St. John's Lutheran church
at 2 o'clock, Rev. J. J. Vollmar officiating.
Burial will be made in the
Le Mars cemetery.Deceased was born in Germany on
June 27, 1864, and came to Jones
county, Iowa, when he was 17 years
of age. Several years later he came
to this county, settling in Grant
township. He was married to Margaret
Thielen.To this union six children were
born, who are Mrs. William Bruns,
Mrs. John Siebens and Mrs. Jesse
McHale, all living near Brunsville;
Mrs. John Buhmann of Sioux City
and William and Minnie, all living at
home. He also leaves his devoted
wife and 9 grandchildren.Mr. Rieken was a good citizen and
was well liked in this community.
Many friends join with the relatives
