Clifford William Lawrence, Sioux
City, was found dead Tuesday morning
(July 26, 1977) morning In his apartment.
Dr. Thomas Coriden. Wood-
bury County medical examiner said
death was caused by heart failure
which occurred Saturday, July 23,
according to the medical examiner.

Mr. Lawrence was born May 22, 1913,
in Plymouth County. He married Eva
E. McGee July 27,1946, at Dakota City.

Mr. Lawrence served in the army in
World War 2 and had duty with the
overseas secret service. He was wounded
in action and received the
distinguished flying cross.
He was a member of Veterans of
Foreign Wars, American Legion and
Laborers union.

Mr. Lawrence worked in the construction
trade, having been employed
by Holtze Construction Co, W A.
Klinger, Inc., Van Osdel Lathing &
Plastering Co. and other firms.

Survivors are a son, James W. of
Heidelberg, Germany; a daughter,
Joanne M. Lawrence of Sioux City; his
father, William of Sioux City; a
brother, Harold of Sioux City; a sister,
Mrs. Chris (Evelyn) Huls of Sioux City;
a step-daughter, Mrs. Melvin (Judy)
Mislivec of Sioux City; a step-son,
Donald Gmeinder of Sioux City, and
two grandchildren.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m.
Thursday in Memorial Park cemetery,
Sioux City. Rev. Fred G. Chilton of the
First Assembly of God church will officiate.

Burial will be under direction of
the W. Harry Christy funeral home in
Morningside.
