Sylvia M. Chilton

Sylvia Mary Chilton, 99, of Heritage
House Health Center, Atlantic,
Iowa, died Monday (Dec. 3,
1990) at the Heritage House. She
lived in the Westfield area in her
youth.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday
at the Nelson-Berger North side
Chapel in Sioux City with
Johnnie Mitchell of Atlantic officiating.
Burial will be in Graceland
Park Cemetery.

Mrs. Chilton, the daughter of
Charles and Lily Maynard Cook,
was born Oct. 22, 1891, in Richland,
S.D., and was raised in the
Richland, Tyndall, S.D., Sioux City
and Westfield areas.

She was graduated from Westfield
High School. On May 15,
1917, she married Claude Chilton
at Sioux City. Mr. Chilton died in
1952. Mrs. Chilton lived in Sioux
City until moving to the Heritage
House.

She was a member of the Girls of
'68, Chicago & Northwestern Railroad
Auxiliary and the Golden
Grain Lodge.

Survivors are two daughters and
their husbands, Anita and Valentine
Norcott of Sioux City and Janet
and Norman Aunan of Atlantic;
nine grandchildren, Douglas Aunan
and Carol of Coralville; Thomas
Aunan and Sue of Iowa City;
Catherine Paul and John of Henderson;
Barbara Pittmann and
Randy of Hancock; John Aunan
and Monica of Dos Moines and
James Moonly and Lynn of Irvine,
Calif., and Mark Norcott and Mary
Ann, Ann Brodersen and Mary Bridenbaugh
and David, all of Sioux
City;.17 great-grandchildren; and a
sister, Goldie Faltz of Atlantic.

She was also preceded in death
by her parents; a daughter, Avis
Meyer and a son, William Charles
Chilton.
