ROY N. CHILTON, 70,
HINTON RETIRED FARMER
SUCCUMBS AT HOSPITAL

Roy N. Chilton, 70, Hinton retired
farmer, died Wednesday at a
Sioux City hospital after a brief illness.

Mr. Chilton was born Dec. 16,
1892, at Luton, Iowa.

He married Ruth Slayter of Luton
on March 14, 1919. They farmed
in the Luton Hornick area until
1944 when they moved to the Hinton
vicinity.

They retired four years ago, continuing
to reside on the farm.

He was a member of the Hinton
Methodist church.

Survivors include the widow; two
sons, Robert of Sioux City and
Darrel of Hinton; a daughter, Mrs.
Virginia Coover of Sioux City; two
brothers, James of Oto and Donald
of Lawton: three sisters, Mrs. Carl
Anderson of Billings, Mont., Mrs.
Alfred Larson of Hornick and Mrs.
Arthur Van Wyngarden of Indianapolis,
Ind., and six grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at
1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Hinton
Methodist church. Rev, Gale Hawhee
will officiate. Burial will be in
Memorial Park Cemetery in Sioux
Citv under direction of the W. Harry
Christy funeral home in Morn-
ingside.
