Beck, Charles 1879-1971

Charles Beck, 92, rural Le Mars, lifelong
Plymouth county resident, died Saturday
at Floyd Valley hospital after an illness of
several years. He was a retired grain and
livestock farmer. Mr. Beck had been at the
hospital for three days. He had formerly
lived at rural Merrill.

He was born April 5, 1879, in Plymouth
county and was married Oct. 1, 1907 at
rural Hinton to Emma Emelia Mathwig.
He was the son of Joseph and Caroline
Eichorst Beck.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at
1:30 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran church,
Lincoln township, rural Hinton. Rev.
Donald Wuertz officiated and burial was in
Trinity Lutheran cemetery, rural Hinton.

Survivors are three sons Joseph, Hinton;
Raymond Beck, Merrill and Harold Beck,
rural Le Mars;eleven grandchildren and
21 great grandchildren; two brothers,
Albert Beck, Sioux City and Edward Beck,
Le Mars; a sister, Mrs. Clara Huffman,
Sioux City.

He was survived by his parents: a son.
three brothers and four sisters.
Mr. Beck was a member of Trinity
Lutheran church.
