Obituary

ERIC PETERSEN

Eric A. Petersen, 70, lifelong Plymouth County resident, died Tuesday (Nov. 26, 1974) at St. Luke Medical Center, Sioux City, after an extended illness.

He was born July 4, 1904, in Lincoln township, the son of John and Laura Epling Petersen. His home was at 205 10th Ave. SE, LeMars.

Mr. Petersen, a retired farmer, was a member of St. John American Lutheran Church.

His marriage to Vera Kowalke took place Jan. 27, 1926, in Lincoln township.

The couple had farmed south of LeMars until their retirement to LeMars.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at St. John American Lutheran Church with Rev. Arnold Imbrock officiating. Burial will be in LeMars Memorial Cemetery under the direction of the Luken-Johnson Funeral Home.

Survivors are his wife, Vera, LeMars; two sons, Donald of Washington, Iowa, and Wilbur, LeMars; and a daughter, Mrs. Everett (Joyce) Lee, Sioux City.

There are 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; four sisters, Gertrude Ideker, New Mexico; Mrs. Irvin (Irma) Hansen, Oregon, and Mrs. John (Ethel) Martin in Whittier, Calif., and Mrs. John (Eva) Crawford, Sioux City.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.
