Marvin L. Black, 48, died Sunday
(Sept. 30, 1979) of an apparent heart
attack at his home.

Services will be at 2 p.m.
Wednesday at the Adaville United
Methodist church, rural Akron. Rev.
Milton Kinney will officiate. Burial
will be in the Pleasant Valley
cemetery under direction of the;
Schroeder funeral home of Akron.

Military graveside rites will be
conducted by the American Legion
Hoschler post 186 of American Legion.

Mr. Black was born May 9, 1931, in
Winner, S.D. He served in the U.S.
army from 1949 until 1952, in the Air
Force from 1954 until 1963 and was a
decorated Korean war veteran.

He married Elna Hollenbeck on June
11,1954, in Winner. He lived in Winner,
Cheyenne, Wyo., Illinois and Japan.
He had been employed by Iowa Beef
Processors in Dakota City for the last
11 years.

Survivors are his wife; three
daughters, Jayne of Sioux City, Lt.
Barbara Thurman of San Antonio,
Texas, and Linda of Iowa City; four
sons, Marvin Jr. Cy, Mark and
Michael, all at home; his parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Leo Black of Winner; two
brothers, Richard of Sioux Falls and
Darrell of Casper, Wyo., and two
sisters, Mrs. Doris Rysavy of Winner
and Mrs. Marian Smith of Casper.
