Obituary— Wilbur E. Morehead
Wilbur Elsworth Morehead was born in Savannah, Ill., September 2, 1860, and died at his home April 20, 1931, at the age of 64 years, 7 months and 24 days.
He resided in Illinois until he reached his seventeenth year, when he moved with his parents to a farm in Plymouth County, Iowa, near Adaville, where he spent the remainder of his life. He was married to Ella C. Fletcher, of Merrill, Ia., September 19, 1893, who, with her nine children, mourn the loss of a kind and loving husband and father.
The children are: Nellie Raber, of Carthage, S. D.; Frank L. Morehead and Iva M. Harris, both at home; Gertrude L. Brown, of Adaville; Vera V. Semple, of Sioux City, la.; Vernon and Lloyd, of Adaville; Marie, of Sioux City, and Phoebe Patrick, of Chatsworth, Ia. Besides these he leaves to mourn, his wife and seven grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Hester Butcher, of Elk Point, S. D.; three brothers, J. F. of Forndale, Wash.; A. E., of Lebanon, S.D., and W. W., of Sioux City; also a host of other relatives and friends.
Mr. Morehead had been ill for the past two years and confined to his bed the past four months, where his loved ones had done everything to relieve his suffering. His daughter, Iva, and son, Frank, were his constant attendants day and night throughout his illness.
Rev. S. M. Zike, of Moville, Ia., assisted by the home pastor, Rev. N, A. Hollingshead, had charge of the funeral services, at the U. B. church at Adaville, Tuesday afternoon, April 28, and his body was laid to rest in the Pleasant Valley cemetery at Adaville.
Pallbearers were M. M. Talbott, W. W. Burrill, Chas. Kanago, of Akron; August Erickson and Andrew Anderson, of Adaville, and H. M. Kanago, of LeMars.
