Vonnie Pratt, 66, of Pierson died Thursday, May 9, 1989 at Marian Health Center in Sioux City. Funeral services were held Friday, May 12, 1989 at 3:00 pm in the Pierson United Methodist Church. Rev. Nova Wells officiated, Mrs. Dorothy Nafe was the organist and Mrs. Roxanne Stauch sang “How Great Thou Art” and Going Home”. Serving as pallbearers were Jim Pratt, Kevin Pratt, Terry Pratt, Alan Pratt, Bruce Rainboth and Steve Dugan. Burial was in the Kingsley Cemetery.

Vonnie Dugan was born Oct. 9, 1922 in Kingsley, daughter of LeRoy and Mary (Fitzpatrick) Dugan. She attended country school northwest of Kingsley and graduated from Kingsley High School in 1940. She married Donald A. Pratt Dec. 31, 1942, in Dakota City, NE. The couple farmed northeast of Kingsley and moved to Pierson after their retirement.

Mrs. Pratt was a charter member of the Tri-State Stroke Club and a member of the Pierson American Legion Auxiliary and Esther Circle of the United Methodist Women.

Survivors include her husband, Don, a son and daughter-in-law Michael and Lana Pratt of Kingsley, two daughters and son-in-law, Kathy and Lyle Spencer of Goldfield, IA and Vonnie Jand and Larry Fettter of Longmont, CO., her mother, Mary Dennler, a brother Herbert Dugan and a sister Lucille Steward all of Julesburg, CO; five grandchildren, David, Jarred and Michael Jr. Pratt and Jay and Camille Geiger and two step grandchildren, Mark and Christopher Fetter. She was preceded in death by her father, one brother, Dennis and step-father, Alvin Dennler.

The Dickinson-Michaelson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
