MINNIE JENSEN
Minnie Christine Jensen, 92, of Hawarden, died Sunday, January 7, 1996, at the Hass Hillcrest Care Center in Hawarden.
Funeral service was at 2:00 p.m. Wed., at the First Baptist Church in Hawarden, with Rev. George Henriksen officiating. Burial was in the Grace Hill Cemetery at Hawarden. Visitation was after noon on Tuesday with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at the Porter-Dow Funeral Home in Hawarden.
Miss Jensen was born Nov. 16, 1903, in Denmark, the daughter of Jens Peter and Anna Maria Dorothea (Thompson) Jensen. She came with her siblings to Hooker, S.D. area in 1910. Her family moved to Hawarden in 1915. Minnie taught Elementary School in South Dakota for many years. The last ten years of her teaching were the Kindergarten Class at the Remsen-Union School District.
She entered the Hass Hillcrest Care Center on Nov. 30, 1994. She very much enjoyed reading, and was a long time member of the First Baptist Church.
She is survived by nephews and nieces.
Minnie was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Walter and Sophus; and 5 sisters, Marie Lewis, Katherine Dowdey, Johanna Lindgren, Olga Knight and Elizabeth Cain.
