Ruth H. Hummel

Ruth A. Hummel, 75, of Elk Point, S.D., died Friday (May 17, 1991), at a Sioux City hospital after a lengthy illness.

Services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Christy Morningside funeral home in Sioux City. Pastor Terry Johnson, of World Wide Church of God, officiated. Burial was in Westfield, Iowa cemetery.

Mrs. Hummel, the former Ruth Johnson, was born May 7, 1916, in rural Anoka, Neb., and grew up in rural Boyd county. She attended school in Gross, Neb. She married Floyd Hummel Nov. 22, 1946, at the Rosedale Covenant church parsonage, near Gross, Neb. She worked for Wincharger Corp. in Sioux City during World War II.

She was a member of World Wide Church of God in Sioux City for 21 years.

Survivors include her husband; a son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Laurie Hummel of Richland, S.D.; a son, Myron of Chillicothe, Ill.; five grandchildren; and a brother, Albert F. Johnson of Gross, Neb.
