Sharp Allen, 71, of Hawarden died Friday (February 17, 1978) at a Hawarden nursing home after a brief illness.

Services were at 1 :30 p.m. Mon­day at the Trinity Lutheran Church with the Rev. Dwight Bengstorf officiating. Burial was in Grace Hill Cemetery. There was a prayer service at 7 p.m. Sunday in the Dow Funeral Home.

Mr. Allen was born July 2, 1900 in Mount Vernon, Ill. He married Marie Ball Sept. 9, 1922 at Hawarden. He was a retired bricklayer.

Mrs. Allen died in August of 1977.

Survivors include two sons, Winferd of Sac City and William of Hawarden; two daughters, Mrs. Velma Jensen of Alcester, S.D. and Mrs. Lila Lewis of Sac City;. a brother, Ben of Sioux City; two sisters, Mrs. Chet Vipond of Hudson, S.D. and Mrs. Mary Hampton of Harvard, Neb.; 16 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren
