Insurance Association Secretary Many YearsHans Christian Anderson, 81, for many years secretary of the Plymouth county Mutual Insurance association, died early Sunday morning at his home east of Le Mars of heart attack.
Mr. Anderson, who had farmed in this county since arriving in 1894 from Denmark, had moved to his present home 23 years ago.
He was born Nov. 1, 1868, in Soro, Denmark, came to the United States in 1894 coming directly to Plymouth county.
His marriage to Miss Lena Miller took place at her sister’s home north of Remsen March 2, 1898. They had two daughters, Eva, who has been making her home with her father, and Erma, Mrs. Niels Mortensen of Remsen. Mrs. Anderson passed away in October 1916. He also leaves three grandchildren.
He rented a farm in Union township and operated it for five years following his arrival in the county. Then he purchased a farm in Fredonia township and operated it until moving to his present home about 1928.
He was associated for over 40 years with the Plymouth County Mutual Insurance association, acting as its secretary until early this year.
Funeral services will be held at his home Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. and at the Gethsemane Lutheran church in Oyens at 2 p.m. the Rev. John Christiansen will conduct the services and burial will be in the Le Mars cemetery. Moeller funeral home in Remsen will be in charge of arrangements.
